After graduating with Honors from the University of Iowa with a degree in Theater Arts in the spring of 2001, Katie moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career in the film industry. She began writing and collaborating with several of her peers from the Film Actors Studio under the tutelage of Gregory Avellone before meeting and pairing up with Producer Jennifer Esquivel of Slingshot Films.

The duo's most recent projects include the screenplays LOOKING FOR LILIES, the story of a big-city girl rediscovering her roots in a middle-American town, and SHORTCUT TO CHRISTMAS, the tale of a disenchanted radio DJ who finds joy within himself with the help of his elderly 'Mrs. Claus-like' landlord. As an actress, Katie's most recent projects include GUNPLAY, a 'True Modern Western', written and directed by Jim Cash, and NIGHT MOCKINGBIRD, a short film about a young woman coming to terms with her boyfriend's untimely death.

Along with FORMOSA BETRAYED, Katie's upcoming projects include STORY OF A RELUCTANT SOMMELIER, a fish-out-of-water tale about a grocery-store worker turned wine-expert, and THE FARM POND, an animated tale about a hunting dog who doesn't know how to go on point. Katie is thrilled to be part of Formosa Film's production of FORMOSA BETRAYED, and is looking forward to the success of such an inspirational and socially significant project.
